HII- Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is looking to hire a Senior Engineer for our HII Nuclear, Maritime Operations Team in Newport News, VA, supporting Newport News Shipbuilding.

Candidate selected for this position will be working in the Reactor Services A4W Technical branch with a goupr of engineers who support A4W Refueling.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

What you must have:


• 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in Engineering.
• Prior experience of technical oversight of equipment, facilities and engineering/ production teams.
• Expertise Developing technical plans and solutions for planned work and emergent problems while teaming with Project Management, Engineering, Prime Contractors, and Naval Reactors is required.
• Prior experience performing technical evaluations and investigations anomalous events and preparing and approving technical reports.
• Ability to develop cost/benefit analysis and technical justifications for equipment and process improvements is required.
• Experience developing and leading training for nuclear engineers and production shops. Ability to provide mentoring for junior and mid-career engineers
• NAVSEA 0389-0288 Art 112 qualification.
• Secret level security clearance.
