Job Description

HII Mission Technologies Newport News Direct Support is seeking candidates to join our K48 Re Entry Control Team (REC Team) at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News Virginia. Candidates with prior experience in the Re Entry Control Process for US Naval Submarines during availabilities and overhauls are encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Prior experience in execution of US Naval Submarine Construction and Overhaul

Preferred Requirements

 

  • Ability to conduct briefings to stakeholders
  • Prior experience as a shipyard tradesperson highly desired
  • Prior experience with the Re Entry Control Process

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
