Summary:
Join the Production Management Team as a leader in project management and integration, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of production staff, products, and services. This role involves direct interaction with contractors, customers, and internal staff to achieve project goals in a timely and cost-effective manner. Additionally, the position includes oversight of all production personnel assigned to a specific vessel.
Note: Relocation to the job site in Brownsville, TX is required upon contract award.
What you will do:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Ensures a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with the applicable local and federal regulations.
• Leading member of the Operations Control Center (OCC).
• Lead operations integration of work across multiple subcontracted teaming partners.
• Plans and reviews schedules to establish and manage priorities for work activities in support of the project.
• Lead the Change Control Board (CCB) and support the evaluation of cost and schedule changes.
• Identifying potential project level risks to schedule or technical criteria
• Identifying and implementing Risk Mitigation plans.
• Engaging with customers (US Navy, Naval Reactors, Nuclear Regulatory Commission) in meetings and discussions to discuss ongoing work, coordination, and issues
• Recommending training to enhance skill and productivity of staff and assisting in developing training procedures.
• Reducing broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensuring employees are trained to perform those plans.
• Complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, and safety standards.
• Overseeing fabrication, installation, operation, testing, dismantlement, radiological waste handling and removal, and processes that have a significant financial impact.
• Monitoring job and budget performance for all projects as well as assuring deadlines and specifications are maintained.
• Scheduling and overseeing checkpoints ensuring that preliminary checks were accomplished, and documentation completed.
• Ensuring compliance with quality management plans, standard operating procedures, and work packages related to assigned projects and developed project plan of action and milestones (POA&Ms)
What you must have:
- 10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; or 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field.
- Must have experience supporting nuclear aircraft carrier and/or submarine projects, gaining a full understanding of nuclear maintenance and/or inactivation operations.
- Advanced level of understanding in a specialized field or general understanding of several diverse disciplines. Involves a broad grasp of involved practices and procedures.
- Generating work assignments according to personnel's skill, experience, and job knowledge as well as efficiency on the job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a confidential level security clearance.
Preferred Requirements
• Experience working with and safeguarding Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (U-NNPI).
• Working knowledge of NNS processes.
