Summary:

 

HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Director of Staff for the USAF Weapons School at Nellis AFB, NV.  This position is critical in leading and aligning the administrative functions of the organization with the Commandant’s vision.  

 

 HII-MT provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

What You Will Do:

  • Directs and leads: the daily operations of all staff at the USAF Weapons School.
  • Strategic Planning: Assisting the executive in developing and implementing long-term strategies and training plans.
  • Coordination: Ensuring effective communication and coordination between various departments and teams both internally to the organization and externally to the 57th Wing, 99th Air Base Wing and Air Combat Command.
  • Decision Support: Providing valuable insights and information to aid the Commandant and key leadership in making informed decisions.
  • Project Management: Overseeing key projects and initiatives to ensure they stay on track and align with the organization’s goals.
  • Crisis Management: Assisting in handling critical situations and crisis management when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and representing the executive when needed.
  • Streamlining Operations: Identifying opportunities to optimize organizational processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Executive Support: Acting as a confidante and advisor to the executive, providing feedback, and representing them in meetings and events as required.
  • Leads and/or participates in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.

What We're Looking For:

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • 20+ years of military service or Federal Government Employee leading high performing teams.
  • Experience in project and program management.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to support customer requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain an active Top-Secret clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • Active Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.
  • Experience in project, program management or Leadership Experience as Deputy Commandant or Squadron Commander or Senior Enlisted Leader at the USAF Weapons School.
  • Graduate of the USAF Weapons School
  • Previous experience as part of the Weapons School Leadership Team
  • Previously qualified as a JTAC
