Who We Are
HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to model training systems to work on a team executing integration efforts on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV.
This position is part of a team that provides on-site M&S support to establish and deliver high-end Advanced Tactics, Training, and Test capability for Government personnel operating under USAFWC/ACC; Provide mission execution and support to broad range of JITTC-N simulator activities and Joint Simulation Environment (JSE). The selected candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be capable of designing and developing and documenting network and systems.
What You Will Do
Candidate will be part of a larger team that addresses the software development, software integration, customer training, and demonstrations of the JSE for JITTC-N. Develop threat simulations for flight simulators to train pilots against potential threats. Coordinate with customers, manage expectations for team deliverables. Ensure customer/stakeholder satisfaction, manage leadership expectations, and reports all potential risks. This includes:

Demonstrate a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object-oriented software design.

Validating designs by testing VR prototypes with users to ensure the design is intuitive and effective.

Design, develop, and implement VR prototypes and experiences.

Communicate project status and team needs to leadership.

Ensure schedule and requirements are met.

Work with partner projects to communicate deliveries and schedules.

Manage documentation, briefs, reports, and answer data calls.

Lead team members to design future enhancements.
What You Must Have

12 years relevant experience with bachelor's in software engineering or related field; 10 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 2 years relevant experience with PhD in related field

Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) experience

Presentation/briefing experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience w/ scripting, databases, and high-level programming languages such as C++.

Proven ability to work both in a team and individually

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language

U.S. Citizenship

Ability to obtain & maintain DoD TS/SCI & relevant SAP/SAR Clearance
Bonus Points For...

Experience with USAF and/or Joint 5th Gen fighter operations

Technical experience working with DoD full mission flight simulators and synthetic environments. Working knowledge of F-35 and F-22 systems software is highly desired.

Experience with developing sub-system and system level models (Air vehicles, ground vehicles, ground-based sensors, and other types of complex systems)

Experience working with/developing multi-system mission level simulations (air space simulation, swarm simulations, etc.)

Proven leadership experience and ability to execute agile/dynamic processes

Active or current DoD TS/SCI Clearance
