Who We Are
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect who will support senior cybersecurity engineers and architects in the design, development, and sustainment of secure system architectures. This position focuses on aligning cybersecurity practices with mission objectives, ensuring compliance with DoD and Air Force standards, and supporting the secure integration of commercial solutions into enterprise environments. The role requires hands-on experience with cybersecurity engineering practices, the ability to draft and manage documentation for authorities to operate (ATOs), and direct engagement with stakeholders to communicate risks, mitigations, and recommendations.
What You Will Do
- Assist in developing secure architectures for enterprise-scale systems, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and risk management frameworks.
- Support senior architects in the analysis of alternatives and evaluation of commercial solutions for integration into secure federal environments.
- Contribute to the development of technical bodies of evidence required for obtaining and maintaining system Authorities to Operate (ATOs).
- Inform and support Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities by analyzing potential impacts of proposed changes to architecture security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including information assurance, operations, logistics, and physical security, to align security controls with mission objectives.
- Provide technical support in mapping cybersecurity controls to real-world commercial solutions, ensuring they fit within cost and time constraints.
- Document technical assessments, security considerations, and recommendations for leadership review.
What You Must Have
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
- Must have a DoD 8140 certification compliance equivalent to IASAE Level I or Level II.
- As an alternative pathway, IAT Level II or IAM Level II certification may be considered.
- Must have experience drafting or supporting bodies of evidence for ATO packages.
- Familiarity with system security engineering and architecture design within DoD environments.
- Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and security control tailoring.
- Ability to analyze and communicate the risks, benefits, and trade-offs of alternative solutions.
- Strong technical writing skills to produce security documentation and architecture deliverables.
- Competence in coordinating with stakeholders across multiple technical and operational disciplines.
- Must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with relevant SAP/SAR Clearance.
Preferred Requirements
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are desirable.
