Who We Are
HII teams provide expert solutions on shipboard alterations and installations for fleet modernization. The selected Team Lead candidate will lead our skilled trades teams, on Shore Installations and Naval Vessels, utilizing various tools of the trade, removing, installing and upgrading industrial systems and equipment. Selected candidate will be required to travel up to 75% of the time when not assigned to a local task. Per Diem provided, based on location, when on travel. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company. Weekend and/or overtime hours required depending on contract awards and support required.
What You Will Do
- Display levels of quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement and performance consistent with company values.
- Responsible for assigning daily tasking and leading technical teams for installations and repairs aboard Navy Vessels and/or Shore Commands.
- Responsible for the accomplishment of designated tasks as described in specific statements of work.
- Maintain effective customer communications and relations and manage subcontractors.
- Develop, use, and/or maintain technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, and reports.
- Schedule and attend meetings, report to and brief customers and senior management.
What You Must Have
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Experience working in shipyard environments and on Naval Shore Commands.
- Must have Alteration Install Team experience
- Must be able to interface and communicate effectively with employees, customers, and management.
- Must be proficient in reading technical documents, manuals, blueprints, drawings and schematics.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, etc.) in addition to Microsoft Windows, pdf software and general computer usage.
- Must be able to follow/enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment.
- Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment.
- Must be able to travel between 50% - 75% when not assigned to local tasking.
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience.
- Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
Bonus Points For...
- Candidates with a current or active DoD clearance preferred.
- Prefer candidate with Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH) knowledge and experience.
- Prefer candidate with High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) Mil-STD-188-125A experience.
