Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cyber Architect to support the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Energy Academic Group. In this role, you will contribute to the development, coordination, and execution of Cyber CCW and NATO‑related coursework, strategic initiatives, and operational support activities. The ideal candidate brings expertise in enterprise digital transformation, cyber security strategy, distributed operations, and communication and information systems to advance DoD and allied mission objectives.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule and is located onsite at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
This role supports advanced academic and operational initiatives focused on enhancing mission resilience, coalition interoperability, and the modernization of enterprise capabilities across U.S. defense and partner‑nation environments.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of Cyber CCW and NATO course activities, workshops, exercises, and deliverables.
- Provide subject matter expertise in enterprise digital transformation to support academic and operational goals.
- Develop and deliver strategic communications, executive briefings, technical presentations, and stakeholder engagement materials.
- Contribute to cyber security strategy development focused on mission assurance, resilience, and operational continuity.
- Assist in developing and implementing distributed operations concepts and enabling technologies.
- Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration among government, military, academic, and industry partners.
- Provide recommendations on communication and information systems modernization and operational integration.
- Support enterprise service delivery initiatives, process improvements, and organizational transformation efforts.
- Conduct research, analysis, and reporting related to cyber operations, coalition interoperability, emerging technologies, and operational effectiveness.
- Support senior leadership engagements, technical exchange meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
What you must have
Education & Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field OR;
- 3 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree in a related field OR;
- 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctor in a related field OR;
- High school diploma/equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise digital transformation, cyber security strategy and resilience, distributed operations, and/or communication/information systems.
- Proven ability to support cross‑functional teams, enterprise service delivery initiatives, and develop strategic communications and executive‑level briefings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior DoD and military leaders.
- Experience supporting multi‑organizational, joint, or coalition environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operational setting.
Security & Credentials
- Current or active DoD secret clearance, with ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI
- U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- DoD Top Secret clearance or higher
- Experience supporting NATO initiatives, coalition exercises, or multinational operations.
- Familiarity with Naval Postgraduate School academic or research environments.
- Knowledge of cyber operations, mission engineering, enterprise architecture, and operational resilience frameworks.
- Prior military service or direct support experience with Navy/DoD operational commands.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL, SAFe, or Security+.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
