This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance, sustainment, configuration control, and airworthiness activities for the Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program. This role supports a global fleet of more than 100 rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and unmanned aircraft systems operating across multiple international locations. The Maintenance Manager ensures aircraft airworthiness, regulatory compliance, maintenance execution from routine servicing to depot-level repairs, and implementation of modifications and upgrades that support mission readiness. This position serves as the technical authority for maintenance operations and works closely with Operations, Logistics, and Safety while leading maintenance personnel across dispersed sites.

What You Will Do

  • Lead all WASS maintenance activities across global locations
  • Develop maintenance philosophies, strategies, and policies aligned with mission requirements
  • Ensure maintenance programs meet fleet readiness and availability targets
  • Establish maintenance standards and procedures aligned with regulations and OEM guidance
  • Improve maintenance efficiency, effectiveness, and cost performance
  • Maintain accountability for aircraft airworthiness across the fleet
  • Ensure compliance with FAA airworthiness standards\
  • Implement directives, service bulletins, and mandatory inspections
  • Manage configuration control and modification approvals
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities for certifications
  • Oversee routine maintenance, scheduled events, and depot-level repairs
  • Direct engine repairs, component overhauls, and life-limited part replacements
  • Ensure maintenance is performed per approved technical data
  • Monitor maintenance production, quality, and efficiency
  • Manage aircraft configuration baselines and modification histories
  • Approve configuration changes and maintain documentation
  • Coordinate fleet-wide upgrades and maintain technical records
  • Plan and execute aircraft modifications and capability enhancements
  • Coordinate approvals with engineering, OEMs, and regulatory authorities
  • Oversee installation of mission systems, sensors, and equipment
  • Lead engine maintenance programs, inspections, and monitoring
  • Manage component repair and overhaul processes
  • Track life-limited parts and optimize component utilization
  • Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance technicians and inspectors
  • Ensure personnel hold required licenses and qualifications
  • Oversee initial and recurring technical training
  • Conduct performance evaluations and promote technical excellence
  • Implement QA/QC programs across all maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, DoS, and contract requirements
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and surveillance
  • Investigate maintenance incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate parts availability with Logistics
  • Forecast material requirements and manage AOG responses
  • Optimize inventory levels to support maintenance operations
  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate planned maintenance with Operations
  • Forecast downtime and communicate aircraft availability
  • Manage unscheduled maintenance and implement predictive strategies
  • Maintain accurate and complete maintenance records
  • Manage logbooks, work orders, and electronic record systems
  • Support audits, reviews, and certification activities
  • Identify and mitigate maintenance-related risks
  • Implement human factors and error-prevention programs
  • Investigate discrepancies and promote a strong safety culture
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes
  • Apply lean maintenance practices and reduce waste
  • Use data analytics to enhance reliability and performance
  • Lead reliability-centered maintenance initiatives
  • Host-Nation Training and Capacity Building
  • Support training programs for partner-nation maintenance personnel
  • Develop curricula and provide hands-on instruction
  • Coordinate closely with host-nation organizations and authorities

What We Are Looking For

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years aviation maintenance experience with leadership responsibility
  • Experience managing maintenance for diverse aircraft fleets
  • Strong knowledge of FAA maintenance regulations (Part 43, Part 145, etc.)
  • Experience operating in international maintenance environments preferred
  • Rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and UAS maintenance experience highly valued
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) highly desired
  • Maintenance management or leadership training preferred
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, and powerplants
  • Understanding of maintenance philosophies and reliability concepts
  • Proficiency with technical data, manuals, and engineering drawings
  • Experience with quality assurance and compliance processes
  • Ability to lead large, geographically dispersed maintenance organizations
  • Aviation maintenance management systems (eMRO preferred)
  • Microsoft Office 365 systems experience
  • Configuration management and technical records systems
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
