Summary

HII - Mission Technologies seeking a visionary Manager of Software Engineering to lead the design and delivery of secure Azure-based AI and data solutions across Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise accounts. This role is instrumental in driving next-generation architectures within classified environments, transforming cloud adoption for critical defense customers, and shaping technical strategy across the Joint community. You will mentor engineering teams, engage directly with federal stakeholders, and bring innovation to life through scalable, mission-ready applications.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee technical execution and delivery of Azure AI and machine learning workloads for DoD customer environments, including Impact Level 4, 5, and 6.
  • Architect and deploy operational solutions using GraphRAG, Azure PaaS, and hybrid cloud analytics.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to enable secure airgapped cloud operations and deliver high-impact enterprise consumption growth.
  • Partner with federal agencies to guide Azure data platform strategy and accelerate cloud migration.
  • Develop and maintain Azure cloud accelerators including ingest pipelines, cognitive service integrations, and knowledge graph systems for multi-INT fusion.
  • Collaborate with internal product and engineering groups to resolve platform issues and shape product direction based on real-world defense requirements.
  • Provide executive-level guidance on cloud consumption metrics, ROI, and performance insights to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor engineering staff and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Proven experience delivering secure cloud-based AI and data platforms within DoD environments.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling cloud consumption and enabling high-stakes digital transformation programs.
  • Expertise in Azure services including Cognitive Services, AppDev tooling, Machine Learning, and PaaS architectures.
  • Experience with federal data security protocols and SAP program environments.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to engage executive leaders and technical stakeholders.
  • CompTIA Security+ certified.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred: Bonus Points For...

  • Experience leading teams through cloud modernization in federal sectors.
  • Familiarity with JADC2 strategy, GraphRAG architecture, and multi-INT analytics.
  • Deep understanding of data streaming, visualization, and unstructured data processing.
  • Ability to navigate and influence complex technical ecosystems while driving measurable impact.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or other relevant degree.
