This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. Summary

HII – Mission Technologies is seeking a highly experienced and mission‑driven Mission Operations Lead to oversee the execution of complex, globally dispersed technical operations across Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Government programs. This senior‑level role provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, subcontractor governance, and process optimization across a portfolio of high‑visibility mission capabilities.

 

This position is primarily remote with up to 35-40% of travel to customer sites, operational locations, and executive‑level reviews.

 

The Mission Operations Lead will leverage deep operational expertise, strong leadership presence, and proven program management skills to ensure mission success across a multibillion‑dollar task order. Responsibilities include leading subcontractor performance, managing technology fielding and sustainment activities, driving operational alignment with mission needs, and proactively mitigating global supply chain and mission risks. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience operating within complex, multi-domain, multi‑tenant environments and will be fully capable of representing HII in front of senior government leadership and mission partners.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage subcontractor performance across assigned tasks and mission areas.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
  • Oversee risk management activities and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Coordinate transition of services and integration of business systems.
  • Support technical reporting and ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Manage fielding and sustainment of DoD technology programs.
  • Address and mitigate risks related to global supply chains in government and commercial efforts.
  • Develop and implement technical and management solutions tailored to customer mission needs.
  • Requires demonstrated experience engaging with internal and external customers and collaborating with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Possess an active certification in one of the following: Project Management Professional (PMP) or DAWIA Level 3.
  • Minimum of 5 years of DoD or U.S. Government contracting experience overseeing technical operations.
  • Proven experience in managing R&D efforts for advanced technology programs.
  • Demonstrated success in fielding or sustaining DoD technology programs.
  • Experience in mitigating global supply chain risks in government or commercial environments.
  • 10+ years leading complex mission operations or large‑scale programs, with responsibility for cost, schedule, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Proven ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders—including government leadership—to align priorities, influence decisions, and resolve operational issues.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
