Job Description

The Financial Operations Internship is a temporary position within HII – Mission Technologies which prepares a college student for entry into the workforce by providing emphasis on training and gathering experience related to a student's educational discipline and which is applicable to the business needs of the company. The position is for college students who are rising sophomores, juniors or seniors in their academic program and available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.
 

Essential Job Responsibilities

•    Under the direction of a Project Control Analyst or Manager, participate in the planning, tracking, analysis and reporting of performance on projects of varying contract type, size, complexity, and level of risk. 
•    Support Division and Business Unit Financial Analysts in providing financial analysis and financial reporting to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company and to assist in the achievement of financial results.
•    Coordinate with internal leaders to shape requirements and ensure successful delivery
•    In support of assigned functional area, performs professional administrative work of an introductory nature gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility
•    Perform work that is pertinent to field study
•    Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
 

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree with more than 20% of the required credits completed.  Preference for Finance, Accounting, Data Analysis, Economics, or related curriculum.  Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher while participating in this internship.

•    Excellent writing, communication and listening skills.
•    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•    Must be diligent, hardworking and a fast learner.
•    Desires to gain professional experience and is eager to learn.
•    Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
 

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
