Job Description

HII Mission Technolgoies is seeking an skilled Server Administrator to support our customer at the Naval Support Facility Deveselu in Romania by managing, maintaining and supporting our customer's server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers, including physical and virtual environments, and have hands-on experience in performing system maintenance to include patch management, updates and backups. This position is contingent upon contract award.  

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Manages the Active Directory, and other core IT services.
  • Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots moderate to complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Performs maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups.
  • Plans and executes systems upgrades and hardware/software installations.
  • Ensures systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.
  • Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
  • Conducts security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops, manages and tests backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services.
  • Participates in disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning.
  • Provides support to end users and other IT staff by resolving complex hardware, software and system related issues.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes.
  • Creates reports on system performance, security incidents and other key metrics.
  • Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.
  • Provides recommendations for system improvements based on analysis and industry best practices.
  • May assist in the development of IT policies and procedures.
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
  • Perform all duties as above in austere, disrupted, degraded, intermittent, low-bandwidth (DDIL) environments and combat conditions I, II, and III.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Client experience requirements: Between 6 to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Client education requirements: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field; Candidate must have an undergraduate degree from an ABET accredited program. 
    • 4 years of additional equivalent experience can be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the installation, configuration and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
  • Hands-on experience developing and testing backup and recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux Server environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Preferred Requirements

  • An active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Relevant certification, such as a Microsoft Windows Server certification or similarly related cert.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, such as AWS or Azure.
