Huntington Ingalls Industries – Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is seeking a Computer Repair Technician to work out of our Klamath Falls, OR office.  As the Computer Repair Technician, you will coordinate with base IT technicians and LAN technicians to maintain all computer systems assigned.


HII - TSD, provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

What you will do

As the Computer Repair Technician, you will report to the Site Manager and coordinate with base IT technicians and LAN technicians to maintain all computer systems assigned. This includes but is not limited to computer and LAN system maintenance and troubleshooting connection issues. You will coordinate work with the base IT to obtain DODI certification to perform the aforementioned duties. Ensure all computers used for training are in workable condition. In the event a personal computer is not working, you will work with base IT to replace the broken part or the entire computer.  You will also perform the following functions:

  •  Set up hardware and install/configure software and drivers
  •  Maintain/repair technological equipment or peripheral devices
  •  Manage security options/software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection 
  •  Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
  •  Troubleshoot system failures/bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
  •  Maintain records of repairs and fixes for future reference

Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon assignments and other factors.
All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.

What we are looking for

  • Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.
  • Must possess a Secret level security clearance with a background investigation within the past six (6) years. 
  • IAW DoD 8570.01M (chapter 2) possess and maintain Information Assurance Technician Level 2 certification.

Bonus points for...

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Electronics, Science, Technology, or similar field, with heavy emphasis on computer LAN. No less than two years current applied verifiable advanced computer and LAN experience. With no formal education, a minimum of four years verifiable advance computer and LAN experience.
  • Familiar with all current Operating Systems and proficient with Windows platforms.
  • Good understanding of basic network administration and maintenance on connections to include cabling and hubs.
  • Shall possess the experience with Interrupt Request (IRQ), Memory and Input/output (IO) de-confliction for audiovisual peripheral to ensure no interruption in use of audiovisual equipment.

Physical Requirements

Office environment. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one person lift. Must be able to carry a lap top computer.
