Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician III to support the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) at the Key West Tactical Training Range. This mid-senior level role is responsible for maintaining airborne subsystems, performing diagnostics, and ensuring mission readiness through precise calibration, testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF theory, GPS systems, and digital/analog signal processing, with a commitment to supporting live training operations for Department of Defense customers.
Essential Job Responsibilities

Maintain and service all TCTS airborne subsystems and associated equipment to meet operational and exercise requirements.

Program Data Recording Devices (DRDs), issue pods to arriving squadrons, and receive pods post-mission.

Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance (PM/CM) in accordance with technical manuals, TCTOs, MRCs, and job plans.

Create and manage Corrective Maintenance Work Orders (WOs) in Maximo; document all maintenance actions in Pod Operability Test Logs and RAMPOD.

Conduct pod operability tests during routine maintenance, post-CM/PM, after hardware/software upgrades, and before/after squadron use.

Troubleshoot and isolate malfunctions using advanced RF and specialized test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, T4B Test Set, LIBSS, LATR portable units).

Apply knowledge of RF theory, GPS principles, AC/DC power systems, and signal processing to diagnose and repair complex issues.

Support special tests, evaluations, and new equipment installations as required.

Perform corrosion control and conduct inventory of airborne subsystem assets and expendables.

Provide on-the-job training to junior technicians and accurately charge labor to work orders.

Adhere to all environmental, safety, and health standards, including proper PPE usage and hazard reporting.

Complete all assigned training, including Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) modules and government-mandated courses.

Handle classified materials in accordance with DoD security protocols.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Computer Operations Supervisor.

Flex work schedule as needed to support mission operations and fleet readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years related experience.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance, preferably in a DoD or aerospace/defense environment.

Proficiency with RF and specialized test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, TCTS test sets).

Strong understanding of RF theory, GPS systems, AC/DC power supplies, and digital/analog signal processing.

Familiarity with Maximo, RAMPOD, and maintenance documentation systems.

Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance record cards.

Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and safety compliance.
-
SECRET security clearance required.

Willingness to work flexible hours based on mission schedules.
Preferred Requirements
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification requirements (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent).

Previous experience on NITE related contract

Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
