Job Description

 

HII is looking for a Computer Operations Supervisor located at the Naval Air Station Key West Florida Tactical Training Range. Directs Key West Tactical Training Range (KWTTR) operations and maintenance functions in accordance with contract requirements.  Supports Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) users and support groups in conducting live missions. Supervises mission systems computer operations personnel, instrumentation technicians and voice communication technicians in the operation of the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) and associated systems. Assists Network Control Technicians with updating, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing mission systems equipment as appropriate.
Knows how to operate and maintain the Navy Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) and associated equipment including Radar Acquisition Display System (RADS), Joint Debriefing Subsystem (JDS), Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS), and the Radio Interface Computer (RIC). Receives pre-mission data from participating squadrons and inputs into Mission Line Up computer prior to scheduled mission. Interacts with Mission Coordinator and squadron operations personnel when data is not received in a timely manner. Verifies all information received from the squadron is correct and is accurately input into the mission display system. Ensures all aircraft are tracking properly during the mission. Works with voice communications technicians to ensure good radio transmit and receive. Assists Air Intercept Controllers and Range Training Officers with operating mission system computers as needed. Documents aircraft tracking anomalies and reports them to the appropriate parties using the Pod Gripe Process. Sets up mission replays for the aircrew to use for debriefing. Enters mission data into Range Information Management System (RIMS). Supports the Configuration Management program. Trains lower-level mission operations personnel. Knowledgeable with the proper handling of classified material. When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must cease work and notify lead, supervisor, or manager of all unsafe conditions. Must complete all assigned training to include but not limited to monthly Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) training, government assigned training and all other non-recurring training as assigned. Position requires flexibility to work occasional non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.  Assigned other collateral duties as required. Minimum Qualifications

 

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field OR
  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Three years of experience working in tactical combat training systems operations with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft OS and Office Suites (Word, Excel, etc.) and standard desktop applications.
  • Excellent customer service and organization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance
  • Network+ or Security+ certification
  • May have to obtain a Microsoft Operating System certification.
  • Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • May be required to maintain current COMSEC certification. 
  • May have to obtain tower climbing safety and rescue certification.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.

Preferred Requirements

 

  • Unix/Linux experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN preferred.
  • Prior military experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
