Who We Are
Mission Technologies, a division of HII is looking for an IT Specialist to provide AFNORTH specific Operational Testing and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) advisory support and technical oversight to Alaska Air Defense Sector (AADS) in the planning and execution of homeland defense training events using the full spectrum of LVC tools, networks and processes. It encompasses event planning and technical support in execution of LVC system modernization and tech refresh goals.
What you will do
The objective is to maximize the potential and utility of the Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) tools, networks and processes in support of AFNORTH training requirements and priorities. It involves preparation of exercise network architectures, and implementation of IA policy and RMF accreditation processes.
Duties include but is not limited to:

Analyze and assess gaps in LVC technology, including DIS compliant environment generators such as Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Training (ASCOT), voice simulators, data link systems and related network components

Assist in coordination and implementation of technology upgrades.

Configure network architectures to support recurring training events and related events such as Joint Deployable Integrated Air and Missile Defense

Coordinate scheduling activities to ensure maximum utilization of LVC networks and systems

Provide real-time technical support during LVC training events and research and development testing

Provide technical documentation of system changes, modifications and upgrades to key LVC constructive and virtual simulators including ASCOT, Multi-Aircraft Simulator (MACS) and Air Warfare Simulator (AWSIM)

Conduct IA activities to ensure system hardening IAW DoD IA policy

Responsible for obtaining ATO for ADS training environment
What you must have
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years’ experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Maintain Security + Certification
- DISA ACAS Training/Certified
- Working knowledge of Air Force and DoD Live, Virtual, and Constructive systems and architecture.
- Working knowledge of common simulator languages, and synthetic training environments.
- Experience with the DoD RMF Assessment and Authorization process, including the development, documentation and approval of multiple systems or enclave Authority to Operate (ATO), Authority to Connect (ATC), and/or supplemental agreements,
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of distributed simulation (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA).
- Experience configuring software, modifying software configuration and performing basic configuration management IAW with all STIGs and other Cybersecurity requirements
- Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools
- Knowledge on use of simulation environment generator (EG) software (NGTS, ASCOT, MSCT or XCite).
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
