Job Description

HII-Technical Solutions is currently seeking an Engineer Technical Services 2 to work at our Regional Contractor Logistics Site Homeland Protection (RCLS HP) at our Indian Head, Maryland office.


The successful candidate will  provide maintenance, logistic, and training support to the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Chemical, Biological, Incident Response Force (CBIRF) located aboard Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head, MD and when deployed.  Maintenance, logistics, and training support is focused on the Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) and Government Off The Shelf (GOTS) equipment, including a fleet of vehicles, assigned to the CBIRF in order to conduct their vital missions.  The support provided includes:

  • Vehicle repair and maintenance
  • Equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Preventive maintenance.
  • Supply chain support.
  • Disposition/disposal.
  • Procurement of principle end items, consumables, expendables, repair parts, and supplies.
  • Training; to include New Equipment Training (NET), sustainment training, conducting scenario driven training events, and on-the-job training that assist the CBIRF in preventing level 1 failures.
  • Attend meeting, briefings, and planning events associated with deployments of the CBIRF maneuver units.
  • Provide feedback as it relates to maintenance, purchases, and training to the maneuver unit commanders.
  • Work hand in hand with maneuver unit OIC’s and SNCOIC’s to establish scheduling of local level support.
  • Proactively provide support to the site lead and be able to provide leadership in the site lead’s absence regarding the contract and labor force.


The candidate will be fully responsible to the Team Lead and Program Manager to ensure program success.  Program success includes, but is not limited to, fulfilling the requirements of the Family of CBRN Systems (FCBRNS) contract (and subsequent contracts) for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) awarded to HII-Technical Solutions.  This support requires, in addition to the previously mentioned requirements, providing surge support, when required, to our other RCLS sites in Jacksonville, NC; Carlsbad, CA; Okinawa, Japan; as well as providing on-site support during real-world missions and training events executed by the CBIRF.

The successful candidate will be required to attend and successfully complete technical training for the Scott Safety Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), and Bauer Compressor use and maintenance.  The successful candidate will be required to fully understand the employment, use, and provide training to Marines on the following:

  • Guardion Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer.
  • MultiRAE Pro.
  • First Defender RMX.
  • TruDefender FTX.
  • Class A-C personnel protection equipment.
  • Other fielded items.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain customer held equipment readiness to a minimum of 90%.
  • Fully understand and train Marines in all aspects of the equipment fielded to the CBIRF.
  • Conduct training when requested and coordinated the CBIRF; training includes:
  • NET.
  • Sustainment.
  • Scenario driven training.
  • On-the-job.
  • Conduct inventory of all MCSC support equipment at the CBIRF annually. 
  • Conduct maintenance of all MCSC supported equipment at the CBIRF; this includes the vehicle fleet, CBRN equipment, and rescue equipment.
  • Maintain the program’s logistics information system (Maximo) with complete accuracy. 
  • Support the fielding of new equipment when required.
  • Maintain and manage a company provided purchase card.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of experience with a BA and 6 years with a HS diploma 
  • Experience and understating of warehouse operations
  • Must be able to travel on short notice - travel up to 25% of the time
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a passport
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent management and multitasking skills are a must.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Five years of CBRN experience as an Officer; or Ten years of CBRN experience as enlisted
  • Experience with IBM's Maximo
  • CBRN officer or senior enlisted
  • Scott Safety SCBA Technician
  • DoD HAZMAT Technician
  • DoD HAZMAT Operations
  • Experience with IBM Maximo
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Project Management Professional
