Job Description

Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented senior Manufacturing and Test Engineer with extensive experience with customer support to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through comprehensive testing and evaluation processes. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 

This role supports the US Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies (RCCTO) mission to deliver Directed Energy (DE) Capabilities that Warfighters utilize daily for deterrence and assurance. RCCTO maintains and sustains war-winning DE capabilities to ensure operational readiness and effectiveness for assets worldwide. The Directed Energy platforms remain a cutting-edge technology against unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in the ever changing battlespace of todays battlefield.

 

The position encompasses support to Government personnel in various areas, including coordination, execution, status management, documentation and specification development, product development, testing, analyses, issue identification and resolution, and standards evaluation. Responsibilities include, analyses, assessments, tests, and evaluations in support of HII, RCCTO and other subcontractors that are contracted to HII. The role also involves coordination and assistance with Government inspection, testing, development, and ongoing modifications.

Essential Job Responsibilities

    

  • Provides testing per specific test procedures by using measuring instruments and computer test programs for vehicle systems or products.
  • Provides customer support and training for new and existing customers both in house and in the field.
  • Supports the production and manufacturing functions. • Supports the production and assembly of test boards.
  • Maintains vehicle repairs, upgrades and execution of test procedures in new and existing vehicles.
  • Performs pre-mission tasks (vehicle mission programming, vehicle checkout). Be able to recognize when something is out of spec.
  • Performs post mission data download and analysis
  • Performs level "one" troubleshooting; visual inspection, use of DVM, basic schematic reading.
  • Leads normal vehicle systems field operations for testing. Design mission to perform needed tasks and get best information out of it. Have a good grasp on what to do if things do NOT go right. Documents test results with appropriate information in a complete manner and communicate to all required.
  • Reads and interprets specific test procedures to properly perform and document test results. Performs all job responsibilities in support of Product Quality Standards.
  • Communicates all design problems and “bugs” to the correct areas within the organization.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in realted field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Have routine computer skills (directory structure, hyperterm, applications).
  • Must be able to work in the field unsupervised.
  • Experience reviewing and providing technical recommendations to program team
  • Experience writing and communicating test documentation
  • Proven track record in developing and executing test plans and procedures
  • Active Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Requirements

  • Greater than 15 years of experience supporting the US Army in various programs
  • Experience with materials testing and characterization
  • Background in risk assessment and mitigation
  • Project management experience 

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
