Job Description
This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD Skillbridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD Skillbridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII.
Objective
The Skillbridge intern will train as
an ASA-WMD within HII Mission Technologies (USFK J2 JIOC-K), reporting to Senior Program Manager, with goal of learning fundamentals, mission operations, and advanced analytical methodologies; tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP); and standard operating procedures (SOP) of ASA-WMD. Intern will be assigned special projects as needed.
Desired End State: March to June 2025
- At end of internship, intern will develop good understanding of all ASA-WMD operations, duties, responsibilities, and functions.
- If time and mission requirements permitting, receive additional training (operational experience) in functional area of All-Source Analyst - Combined Intelligence Operations Center (ASA-CIOC).
- HII Mission Technologies will benefit from military background of Skillbridge intern and considers Skillbridge internship overall positive experience.
Assumptions/Restrictions
- No travel requirements.
- Skillbridge Intern will possess at minimum active TS//SI clearance and in-scope CI polygraph.
- Skillbridge Intern will be available during core hours for critical meetings and training.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Training Location: USFK J2 JIOC-K (Camp Humphreys, Pyeongtaek, ROK), South Korea
Training Plan
- Week 1
- HII Onboarding: Establish Network Accounts, Initial In-briefs, company integration
- JIOC-K Onboarding: Establish Network Accounts, Initial In-briefs, JIOC-K integration
- Introduction to supported customer mission areas
- Week 2-12
- Train at J22 ASA-WMD Desk located on USFK Watchfloor (JIOC-K) learning ASA-WMD methodologies, TTP, and SOP.
- Contingency Plan – ASA-CIOC (if time and mission requirements permit):
- Train at J22 ASA-CIOC Desk located on CFC Watchfloor (CIOC-K) gaining experience as ASA-CIOC for specified period of time (TBD).
- Last Day of Internship:
- Review, assessment, and final interview
Additional Goals
- Facilitate networking with JIOC-K personnel.
- Introduction to JIOC-K missions and operations.
- Facilitate possible employment with HII under SIA 3 JIOC-K contract.
Minimum Qualifications
Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Applications accepted within final 12 months of active-duty US Military service. Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction.
- All-Source Analyst – Weapons of Mass Destruction (ASA-WMD); Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or 9+ years with a HS diploma
- Security clearance requirements of Active TS//SI clearance + in-scope CI polygraph
Preferred Requirements
- 8 years of experience conducting relevant WMD - Alll Source Intelligence analysis.
- INDOPACOM AOR experience
- Experience working at a JOINT HQs assignment or similar strategic command level assignment
