Job Description

HII-Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is currently seeking a Software Quality Analyst/Data Analyst to work on a data analytics team to ensure data and software quality on a DoD data warehouse and analytics platform for DoD safety information. THIS PERSON HAS THE ABILITY TO WORK REMOTELY.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Perform quality checks on data and programs during the monthly product release cycle.
  • Work with database engineers in programming data quality checks throughout the data fusion process.
  • Conduct complex analyses on data in relational and dimensional databases.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, physics, operations research, statistics, or engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, of which at least 3 years must be in IT quality assurance for complex systems involving software code, life cycle methodologies, safety management systems, or IT quality assurance management tools.
  • Experience with managing and monitoring hardware and software quality checks in multiple environments, providing guidance in support of IT quality management to support on-going operational requirements, quality assurance and quality control, testing, and supporting the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in the collection, cleaning, validation, analysis, and tracking of data.
  • Excellent skills in querying databases using T-SQL and in analyzing data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • Subject matter expertise in study design, research methods, statistical analysis, as well as data collection instruments using qualitative and quantitative methods including focus groups, cognitive interviews, online surveys, and data integration from various military sources.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety data systems, capabilities, and processes. Experience conducting return on investment/business case analysis for safety management systems and similar safety related efforts.
  • Expertise in the study of potential modifiable causes of injuries and fatalities with evidence-based recommendations to mitigate fatalities and/or mishaps. 
  • Experience with analyzing data from various and multiple sources, and defining and refining requirements for data manipulation, business rules, and integration at multiple layers of data warehouse and analytics platforms - from report models to OLAP cubes to reports and dashboards.
