This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking current college students to apply for our Summer Internship Program located in Honolulu, HI!

 

HII is seeking Interns to take part in our growing Workforce Development Program! We are looking for driven and goal-oriented individuals who are interested in breaking into the defense industry.Through this program, HII will offer you the opportunity to learn from subject matter experts within the technology and intelligence fields, and exposure to the world of private government contracting.Our experts will provide mentorship to ensure interns complete our program with the confidence to accurately apply and perform the skills learned in this internship throughout their future careers. This internship not only provides interns the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional environment but also allows them a look at what HII and the defense industry can offer. 

 

The 2026 Internship Program will take place for 8 weeks (6/1/2026 through 7/24/2026) in Honolulu, Hawaii. Step into the world of intelligence and make a real impact supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) in the Indo-Pacific region. Over 8 exciting weeks- you’ll dive into expert-led briefings and sharpen essential skills, to tackle AI/ML problem sets of the Indo-Pacific. The experience culminates in a dynamic capstone project where you and your team will apply everything you’ve learned. Come grown with us!

 

Participants may be invited to remain in the internship program for a 90-day cycle, following an evaluation at the end of the term.

 

Target Hourly Rates:

IT Intern 1- $20.00/per hour

IT Intern 2: $21.00/per hour

IT Intern 3: $22.00/per hour

IT Intern 4: $24.00/per hour

What you will do

  • Engage in high-level mentorship to understand the fundamentals of various disciplines, learning directly from industry experts across the program
  • Apply a combination of technical precision and interpersonal skills to contribute meaningful solutions
  • Actively contribute to the HII workforce development pipeline
  • Participate in educational lectures, exercises, briefs, and events
  • Complete deliverables individually and as a team as assigned by staff
  • Build a robust network with other interns and professionals within the defense and advanced educational fields
  • Additional duties as assigned or required 

What we are looking for

  • IT Intern 1: High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with up to 20% of the required credits completed
  • IT Intern 2: High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 20% and 40% of the required credits completed
  • IT Intern 3: High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 40% and 60% of the required credits completed
  • IT Intern 4: High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with more than 60% of the required credits completed 
  • Must be located in Honolulu, HI for the entire duration of the Internship Program
  • Proactive learner who is dedicated to refining their skills and approaching challenges as a creative problem solver in collaborative cross-functional projects
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance 

Bonus points for...

  • Graduate of a local (Hawaii) high school program
  • Currently enrolled student of a local (Hawaii) college or university
  • College courses and/or certifications in Data Science, Information Technology (IT), Intelligence Studies and/or or Cybersecurity
  • Research experience on topics relating to the Indo-Pacific 
  • Motivated to establish a career with DoD support to INDOPACOM

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
