This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Position Summary

 

Satellite RF Engineer

We are seeking a Spectrum Management Professional to lead a small team (4 people) of regulatory professionals and provide direct support to the Government in the area of satellite national and international regulations, national and international policy, satellite registration and coordination.

What you will do

 

 

  • Lead a team of spectrum regulatory experts aimed at protecting incumbent programs from radio frequency interference and ensuring future program compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Actively participate in US and International ITU meetings leading up to the next WRC by preparing inputs, providing edits for others inputs and forming US positions on WRC Agenda Items of interest to the Government customer.
  • Produce written and oral reports.
  • Provide support to program offices by attending regular tag up meetings, directing the performance of analysis and developing requirements that will ensure the regulatory compliance of satellite systems.
  • Liaise with program offices to understand program current and future requirements.

What we are looking for

 

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of professional relevant RF spectrum management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Science, Math or another related technical discipline
  • Knowledge of Satellite Communication systems (to include link budgets, general radio theory and basic orbital mechanics)
  • Familiar with national and international spectrum policies and spectrum regulatory, registration and coordination processes
  • Familiarity with the ITU Radio Regulations and U.S. regulations
  • Creative problem solver with acute attention to detail
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. Current TS/SCI is a plus.

Bonus points for

 

  • Familiar with satellite communications analysis software STK
  • Basic understanding of analysis processes and procedures
