Job Description

This Software Engineer Internship is designed for rising college juniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in software, electrical, or computer engineering. This isn't just a temporary position; it's a chance to gain hands-on experience and prepare for a career supporting C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance).  

What You'll Do

As an intern, you'll be a key part of the team supporting Minotaur, a mission management tool used on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft. Your work will directly enhance an operator's ability to identify and track targets on land and at sea by improving the way sensor data is processed.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and improving new capabilities for our operational systems.

  • Supporting all stages of the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to integration and testing.

 

Possible projects you may work on include:

  • Developing solutions to critical operational shortfalls using a variety of disciplines like machine learning, AI, and signal/video processing.

  • Designing and implementing user-friendly graphical interfaces.

  • Improving and automating our simulation and testing processes.

  • Creating new proof-of-concept prototypes for cutting-edge projects.

What We're Looking For

You must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering) with between 40% - 60% of your credits completed.

 

We are seeking candidates who possess:

  • Experience with software development in a Linux environment.

  • Proficiency in languages such as C++, Java, or JavaScript.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to think critically.

  • A diligent, hardworking attitude and a desire to learn quickly.

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
