As the nation’s largest military shipbuilder, HII knows how integrate millions of parts, pieces and service from across the globe to complete a larger mission. Our Submarine Configuration program is seeking a Supply Support candidate. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the update and maintenance of configuration data for 688 class submarines utilizing the Configuration Data Managers Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) database. This position is located at our Net Center location in Hampton, VA and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule #LI-MJ1 *MV *TL 

What you will do

  • Provides support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked.
  • Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment. Modifies maintenance records such as repair standards for more complex equipment or components.
  • Develops requisitions for and manages records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals; tracks logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities; reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment; documents equipment, component and parts conditions; and identifies logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support life-cycle of product.

What you must have

  • Must have a High School Diploma/Equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must have prior shipboard logistics experience or submarine fleet modernization experience.
  • Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance.

 

Preferred: Bonus points for...

  • Prior Navy Logistics Supply experience is highly desired. 
  • Prior experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings.
  • Prior experience utilizing military logistics databases preferred, experience utilizing the Configuration Data Managers Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) highly desired. 

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in a shipboard environment. Must be able to lift, carry, transport heavy equipment and climb ladders.
