Who We Are

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, Project Management 2 to lead and oversee multiple project within our portfolio. This role will focus on managing the successful execution of complex projects, ensuring they meet strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, leadership, and cross functional collaboration within technology or defense contractors. 

What You Will Do

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

What You Must Have

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Candidate must have a proven track record managing complex projects within logistics, engineering, or maintenance and modernization disciplines. 
  • Candidate must have experience managing dynamic schedules, diverse products, and complex requirements. 
  • Candidate must possess proven experience managing processes, workflows, resource allocation, and product delivery. 
  • Candidate must have experience managing budgets, schedules, and cross- functional teams. 
  • Candidate must have strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve project goals.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of management and external stakeholders. 
  • Candidate must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on quality and deadlines. 
  • Candidate must have solid problem- solving and decision skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Candidate must possess strong organizational skills and critical thinking.
  • Candidate must possess proven proficiency in MS Office applications.

Bonus Points For Having!

  • Knowledge of Ship Change Document (SCD) planning and or execution.
  • Experience executing IPS in support of shipboard alterations and modernization.
  • Knowledge of Technical Documentation product, specifically Ship Information Books (SIBs), Damage Control Manuals, Damage Control Plates, and Compartment Checkoff Lists (CCOLs).
  • Experience with US Navy Publishing Applications, SGML, and DOCNAVSEA2.
  • LHD, LHA, LPD, or LCS platform experience.

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
