Description


HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Technical Artist 2 to support 2D graphic design development, and photo/video production for various projects within its Multimedia group! This position is located at our NetCenter in Hampton, VA with a HYBRID work schedule available once fully trained. 

The selected candidate must be able to create 2D illustrations, conduct photo and video shoots utilizing professional photography and video equipment, and edit photo and video content into polished final products. This is a full-time position.

What You Will Do

 

  • As a Technical Artist, this role involves developing and creating a variety of multimedia materials for different applications, such as real-time simulation and training applications. 
  • You will also be responsible for defining and supporting the production pipeline. This includes analyzing, designing, implementing, integrating, testing, debugging, and maintaining multimedia assets like 2D and/or 3D graphics, streaming video, and audio in virtual and other environments. 
  • You will work closely with instructional designers, engineers, artists, subject matter experts, and project professionals to utilize a wide range of skills and software tools to support the visual and technical designs for various virtual and other environments. 
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting briefs, project or task plans, technical reports, and user manuals. 
  • To be successful in this role, you should have a background in using relevant multimedia development tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition, AfterEffects, and Encoder.

What You Must Have

 

  • Candidate must have either:
    • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 
    • Or 0 years experience with Masters in related field; 
    • Or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must submit a digital portfolio with samples of photo/video work (include with résumé)
  • Candidate must be able to travel for photo/video shoots (up to 20% of the time)
  • Candidate must have experience using Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Candidate must be proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition, AfterEffects, Encoder
  • Candidate must have experience using professional digital cameras (DSLR/mirrorless) and video cameras
  • Candidate must have knowledge of foundational design principles
  • Candidate must have attention to detail
  • Candidate must have the ability to interpret a storyboard, capture the required photo/video content, and edit/produce professional quality videos with audio, custom titles, and motion graphics
  • Candidate must have the ability to demonstrate photo/video knowledge
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Candidate must have an active Security Clearance

  • Experience working on US Navy vessels is preferred 
  • Experience in 3D modelling and animation is preferred 
  • Experience in 3D printing is preferred 
  • Experience in AR/VR is preferred

Physical Requirements


May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
