HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Spec Writer 4 to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical specifications, standards, and procedures for our projects. The selected candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technical staff to ensure that all project requirements are met.
 

What You Will Do

  • Prepares specifications from engineering change notices, customer specifications, and/or published data sheets.
  • Maintains customer specifications files; reviews customer drawings and data; translates customer language into standard procedures and product flow.
  • Ensure that all technical documentation is clear, concise, and meets industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all technical documentation is consistent with company policies and procedures.

What You Must Have

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Candidate must have background experience in submarine combat systems, sonar systems, navigation systems, or operational Naval Nuclear power experience
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Candidate must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat
  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points For Having!

  • Possess operational and maintenance experience on submarine combat control systems, sonar systems, exterior communications systems, navigation systems, or electronic warfare systems.
  • Naval Nuclear Power operational experience 

Physical Requirements

Most work is performed in an office environment with the possibility of some time spent aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Able to work on and climb ladders. Able to work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Environment may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
