Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is seeking an experienced Engineer Systems 2 to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of complex systems. The Engineer Systems 2 will work closely with other engineers, project managers, and customers to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.

What You Will Do
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Design, develop, and test complex systems
What You Must Have
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
- Candidate must have knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices
- Candidate must have experience working on ships
- Candidate must have strong Proficiency in 2D & 3D AutoCAD
- Candidate must have experience with system analysis and requirements development
- Candidate must have knowledge of multiple disciplines including piping, HVAC, structure, and electrical systems
- Candidate must have experience with system integration and testing
- Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance

- Prior experience working with NNS, NNSY, Ingalls, and PSNS Shipyards
