Integrated Product Support within Mission Technologies - Fleet Sustainment, is currently seeking a Logistics Support 3 candidate to join the team at the NetCenter Business Offices in Hampton, VA.  

As the nation’s largest military shipbuilder, HII knows how to integrate millions of parts, pieces and service from across the globe to complete a larger mission. The selected candidate will use engineering drawings and data to develop aircraft carrier hull, mechanical, electrical, and electronic system/equipment configuration, logistic, and alteration records. Additionally, the candidate will research planned and accomplished changes to shipboard equipment and systems in order to develop new and modified configuration, logistics, and alteration records for individual ship configuration databases. The candidate will participate in and interpret results of sight validations of shipboard systems and equipment. The candidate will use government-provided software and computer systems to develop and modify configuration, logistics, and alteration records.

What You Will Do

 

  • Provides support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked.
  • Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
  • Modifies maintenance records such as repair standards for more complex equipment or components.
  • Develops requisitions for and manages records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals; tracks logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities; reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment; documents equipment, component and parts conditions; and identifies logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support life-cycle of product.

What You Must Have

 

  • Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Candidate must possess four years in the operation, maintenance, or design of Naval Hull, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic systems.
  • Candidate must be able to read and interpret ship arrangement, installation, and system drawings.
  • Candidate must be able to learn how to hierarchically structure and assign the appropriate technical coding to Hull, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic shipboard systems within CDMD-OA.
  • Candidate must be PC literate – e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation graphics.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate technical concepts effectively and express (oral/written) ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Candidate must be capable of sight validating shipboard (marine) systems/equipment and performing shipboard sight validations and able to perform logistic technical analysis of shipboard (marine) equipment.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a confidential security clearance.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

Bonus Points For ...

 

  • Warfare-qualified having served onboard LHA, LHD, or CVN platforms.
  • Expertise in shipboard system operation, maintenance & repair and the Navy’s preventive maintenance system.
  • OMMS-NG and CSMP experience.
  • Four years’ experience in the operation & maintenance of shipboard electrical & internal communications systems.
  • Experience as a shipboard 3M Coordinator.
  • Experience with parts screening databases (GDAPL, HAYSTACK, FEDLOG).

Physical Requirements


Must be able to work in a shipboard environment. Must be able to lift, carry, transport heavy equipment and climb ladders.
