We are seeking a talented and experienced Engineer Designer 2 to join our team at HII. The Engineer Designer 2 will be responsible for creating and developing designs for a variety of projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure that designs meet project requirements and deadlines.
Essential Job Responsibilities
An Engineer 2 is responsible for designing and developing engineering solutions that meet project requirements. This includes analyzing customer needs, developing design concepts, and creating detailed engineering drawings. The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining project documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and other engineers, to ensure that project requirements are met. This includes participating in design reviews, project meetings, and other collaborative activities. An Engineer 2 will also provide technical support and ensure industry compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 0 years' experience with Masters in related field.
- DOD/Navy Engineering Experience
- In Service Engineering Agent experience
Preferred Requirements
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- NSWC Experience
Physical Requirements
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
