Summary
Ready to make a direct impact? Right now, our International Services Support (ISS) team is seeking to fill the on-site Project Manager position, located at Fort Eustis, VA, at 3rd Port, to oversee all personnel, task management, and coordination in support of maintenance and repair, planning, and customer engagement for the LCU 2000 Class Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) Interim Contractor Support contract, as well as being the lead subject matter expert on all SLEP upgraded equipment. This position will require pierside task planning and other duties in support of additional growth work for the maintenance and repair of Army Watercraft.
What You Will Do
- Lead all aspects of the contract, including personnel supervision, task management, and coordination, to ensure successful maintenance, repair, and planning while maintaining strong customer relations.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for all upgraded equipment under the SLEP program.
- Perform pierside task planning and provide additional support for the maintenance and repair of Army Watercraft.
- Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
- Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
What You Must Have
- 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
- Experience managing personnel in support of Army Watercraft maintenance and repair work to include troubleshooting, conducting diagnostics, preventative maintenance checks and services, detailed knowledge of Caterpillar diesel engines and generators, and hull, mechanical, and electrical repairs.
- Must demonstrate direct leadership experience in a technical environment.
- Must have knowledge and experience working with the Product Director Army Watercraft Systems (PD AWS) customer, Watercraft Inspection Branch, and 7th Transportation Brigade.
- At least 5 years of technical experience with SLEP equipment found on the LCU 2000 Class Vessels to include: Caterpillar Main Propulsion Diesel Engines, Air Conditioning Units (2, 4 & 16 Ton), Galley & Food Storage Equipment upgrades, Head Upgrades, New Flood lights, Anchor Handling Upgrade, Diesel Generators (Service and Emergency), Bow Thruster Engine, Duct Heaters Replacement, Remote Motor Controllers Replacement, Bow Anchor Winch And Control Station Replacement.
Preferred: Bonus Points For
- At least 15 years of experience managing personnel in support of Army Watercraft maintenance and repair work. This includes troubleshooting, conducting diagnostics, preventative maintenance checks and services, detailed knowledge of Caterpillar diesel engines and generators, and hull, mechanical, and electrical repairs.
- Served as chief engineer on Army Watercraft vessel(s).
- Licensed watercraft engineer / level 40 trained out of the US Army.
- Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge on engineering practices and techniques to complex situations and non-routine tasks.
- Candidate has experience with US Army SOPs (standard operating procedures).
