Join our technical support team, as we are looking for a Senior marine electrician to support the U.S. Army fleet of watercraft. The selected candidate will be performing duties in a senior technician capacity conducting preventive maintenance checks & services (PMCS), complete field and sustainment level repairs, trouble shoot and run diagnostics on all ship board systems at Fort Eustis, VA.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical support on a variety of routine and unplanned tasks.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory order material test results and engineering design changes.
  • On-site reporting to the Army Watercraft Program Manager.
  • Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
  • Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
  • Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.

What you must have

  • High School education, or Trade School or Equivalent, and 6 years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty. 
  • Must have preventative maintenance checks & services (PMCS) experience on shipboard systems.
  • Must have hands on experience with the following systems and associated equipment, propulsion, hydraulics, piping, pneumatic, electrical and power generation.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD secret level clearance and maintain clearance throughout employment.
  • Must be able to obtain base access credentials within the first 60 days of hire and maintain credentials throughout employment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • 10 years of prior Marine Electrician experience preferred.
  • 88L30 transportation school and Army Watercraft experience.
  • Journeyman’s license
  • Prior experience leading and directing hands-on trades teams preferred.
  • Experience with Cummins and/or Caterpillar engines a plus.

Physical Requirements

Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for
meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally
encountered.
