This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Summary

This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII. 

 

Objective

The Skillbridge intern will train as a Risk Management SME within HII Mission Technologies' C5ISR Group, reporting to a designated Mission Technologies supervisor, with the goal of learning the fundamentals, and advanced TTPs of Risk Management. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.

 

Desired End State (3-4 month target)

At the end of four months, the intern will develop a good understanding of all Risk Management Operations, duties and functions, and receive additional training in the following areas:

  • Due Diligence
  • Advanced Planning
  • Advanced Technician
  • Support to Sensitive Activities
     

HII Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the Skillbridge intern and considers the Skillbridge internship an overall positive experience.

Program of Instruction

Training Locations: Fort Meade, MD, Honolulu, HI, or San Antonio, TX

Training Plan

 

  • Week 1-2:

    • Establish Network Accounts, Initial In-briefs, company integration

    • Introduction to supported programs

 

  • Week 3-4:

    • Introduction to Risk Management Methodologies

    • Techniques Applied to Risk Management Methodologies

    • Importance of OPSEC Plans

    • Overview of Operational Validity of a Unit's Risk Management Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)

 

  • Week 5-6:

    • Digital Platforms and Behaviors

    • Introduction to Advanced CI/HUMINT, Cyber, and SIGINT TTPs

    • Surveillance Detection Route (SDR) and Counter-Surveillance Planning

 

  • Week 7-8:

    • Advanced TTPs Applied to Risk Management Methodologies

 

  • Week 9-10:

    • Intro to strategic policy, planning, and writing for Risk Management

    • Advanced Surveillance Detection Route (SDR) and Counter-Surveillance Planning

 

  • Week 11-12:

    • Review, Assessment, and final interview

 

 

Additional Goals

  • Facilitate networking with base personnel.

  • Intro to HII Mission Technologies Programs and Projects

Minimum Qualifications

Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service to actively participate. Applications accepted within final 12 months of active military service.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of intelligence/risk management analyst experience. Experience may be substituted for education
  • Experience with various techniques applied to risk management methodologies
  • Maintain knowledge of established risk management and OPSEC plans
  • Experience in determining the operational validity of a unit's risk management Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)
  • Knowledge of various open sources, digital behaviors, and common platforms used in one or more CCMD AORs
  • Experience within the Intelligence Community, CCMDs (J2X/3X), or Federal Law Enforcement in the specialty areas of CI/HUMINT, Cyber, SIGINT. 
  • Experience in Surveillance Detection Route (SDR) and Counter-surveillance planning
  • Must have a TS/SCI Security Clearance with a CI Polygraph to participate in this internship
