Position Summary
Link 16 LPDS Engineer
HII: Mission Technologies is seeking a Link 16 Engineer to support our work with the Government. The Link 16 Engineer performs the systems engineering activities to support requirements analysis and requirements management to support development of a new LPDS. The contractor shall support the development of a Software Requirements Specification (SRS) by proposing non-functional requirements for approval by the Government, documenting the functional requirements developed by the Government in the SRS, and providing configuration management of the SRS. The contractor shall support the process for requirements analysis and development, and SRS document review and approval by the CCB. Upon approval, the requirements shall be updated by the contractor using a requirements management tool (e.g. IBM DOORS) that allows tracking information on the history, status, and open issues for requirements. The tool shall provide traceability feature that supports linking the requirements to specific releases of the LPDS software, and to the test procedures developed to test the requirements.

What you will do:
- This position is to support requirements analysis, design, and development, integration, and test efforts necessary to provide the Navy and Marine Corps Spectrum Center (NMSC) with essential technical support to redesign and develop a new Link 16 Pulse Deconfliction Server (LPDS).
- Create a Software Development Plan (SDP) for each release of the LPDS that documents the functional requirements allocated by the CCB for inclusion in the release, the processes, tasks, tools to be used to perform the tasks, schedule, resources required, and project milestones. The SDP will be submitted for review and approval by the Government.
- Perform the system software engineering, development, and integration support to implement software requirements for the new LPDS version based on the capabilities defined by the LPDS CCB for inclusion in the release. The contractor shall perform the software engineering for the analysis, design, implementation, test, and integration of the LPDS.
- Perform the analysis and implementation of the LPDS software to be compatible with the host environment to be determined by the CCB. Implementation of LPDS requirements shall be developed with the capabilities as dictated by CCB approved requirements and SPCRs.
- Implement an automated regression test suite that tests each requirement implemented in the release, and that will be continuously enhanced for every subsequent LPDS software release. The contractor shall write a test design that identifies the steps necessary to demonstrate a requirement, a set of requirements, or an SPCR has been implemented correctly. Each test design shall be submitted to the Government for review and approval to ensure all critical operational scenarios are included in the test design. An automated test script shall be written for each approved test design and integrated into the regression test suite of tests to be conducted at the Formal Qualification Test (FQT).
- Support the Government witnessed FQT to demonstrate the operational readiness of the LPDS for approval and acceptance by the Government. The contractor will demonstrate the execution of the procedures in the Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) document approved by the Government and create the Software Test Record (STR) documenting the results of the test. The contractor shall provide configuration management of the ATP, STR, and Government approval documents.
What we are looking for:
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- L16 and LPDS software development experience
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in electrical engineering, electronic technology, computer science or another similar technical discipline
- Must be able to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
