Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a dedicated, professional, and customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist (Administrative Generalist 2) to serve as the face of our organization. This role is pivotal in presenting a secure, welcoming, and efficient work environment in a high-security setting that supports SCIF operations You will handle a diverse range of administrative and facility operations, ensuring that visitors, clients, and team members receive exemplary service.
About the Role
This role goes beyond traditional front desk responsibilities by integrating key security operations. The successful candidate will ensure robust visitor management and facility security—vital to maintaining the operational integrity of our secure SCIF environment at Fort Meade.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Visitor & Client Reception
- Greet and warmly welcome visitors, clients, and employees, ensuring that each person shows proper identification upon entering the facility.
- Provide essential information and assistance to establish a positive first impression.
Communication Management
- Handle incoming phone calls, directing them to the appropriate personnel or departments promptly and professionally.
Mail & Package Coordination
- Manage all aspects of mail distribution and directly receive and track packages from shippers to ensure timely and accurate delivery throughout the facility.
Administrative Support
- Assist with data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records in alignment with company policies.
- Interpret and enforce administrative policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across the organization.
Collaborative Reporting
- Work with various departments to compile budgeting details, project schedules, and statistical reports as required by management.
Facility Security & Operations
- Responsible for opening and closing the facility, ensuring all doors are secured and the alarm system is activated.
- Conduct a comprehensive walk-through of the facility prior to closing to ensure that no unauthorized personnel remain on site.
Office Maintenance & Scheduling
- Oversee inventory control for office, pantry, and kitchen supplies, ensuring they are consistently well-stocked.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs for office equipment as needed, and assist in scheduling meetings and appointments to streamline operations.
General Responsibilities
- Address inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally, while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support day-to-day administrative and operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) along with other essential software applications.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with outstanding customer service abilities.
Organizational Skills:
- Detail-oriented with exceptional time-management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Professionalism:
- A polished, professional demeanor with the capability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Compliance Acumen:
- Demonstrated understanding of administrative procedures and a proven ability to adhere to company policies diligently.
Security Clearance:
- Current and active TS/SCI clearance Required

- Experience and proficiency in budgeting processes and report preparation are highly desirable.
