Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Terrain SME to provide Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS) technical and functional Constructive Simulation and Gaming support to TRADOC Centers of Excellence (COE) and Schools. This work provides technical and functional end-to-end simulation to Mission Command Systems (MCS) training functionality using TRADOC Proponent Office – Constructive (TPO-C) low overhead simulations and TRADOC Proponent Office – Virtual & Gaming (TPO-V&G) games. Simulations and tools such as Army Games for Training (GFT), Virtual Battle Space (VBS), and Division eXercise Training and Review System (DXTRS) are employed to enhance staff training at the lower continuum of training thresholds with the purpose of enhancing Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and staff training in each respective TRADOC Institutions training curriculum. #LI-MJ1

What you will do

  • Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models.
  • Develops software that simulates behavior of users and systems.
  • Develops, integrates and uses graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
  • Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and provides decision support for alternative architectures.
  • Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
  • May build and design training models.

What you must have

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
    • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience with terrain in a low overhead training environment
  • Experience in providing simulation advice to support DXTRS capability development and demonstrated expertise in low overhead capability development, VV&A, and user support.
  • Expert knowledge in all aspects of terrain, DXTRS and Gaming – technical, functional, and database.
  • Expertise in terrain interaction with all other linkages such as the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), Maneuver Network (MANNET).
  • Digital Terrain and elevation Data (DTED) and Terrain formats.
  • Extensive knowledge of geospatial data to include formats, projections, datums, scale and data sources.  Extensive knowledge of one or more GIS software packages such as ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and QGIS etc. Arch GIS and Global Mapper have almost become standard for M+S Terrain.
  • Extensive knowledge of Geospatial data schemes such as FACC and EDCS and NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) and its products and how they specifically relate to military use.
  • Knowledge, expertise, and competency on how to manipulate geospatial products to conform to common Modeling and Simulation (M+S) standards.
  • Must have a current or active DoD Secret Clearance and be able to maintain clearance throughout employment. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Requirements

  • Understand Military terms and acronyms.
  • Experience in military doctrine and training management, capability development.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
