Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Simulation Database Engineer to provide Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS) technical and functional Constructive Simulation and Gaming support to TRADOC Centers of Excellence (COE) and Schools. This work provides technical and functional end-to-end simulation to Mission Command Systems (MCS) training functionality using TRADOC Proponent Office – Constructive (TPO-C) low overhead simulations and TRADOC Proponent Office – Virtual & Gaming (TPO-V&G) games. Simulations and tools such as Army Games for Training (GFT), Virtual Battle Space (VBS), and Division eXercise Training and Review System (DXTRS) are employed to enhance staff training at the lower continuum of training thresholds with the purpose of enhancing Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and staff training in each respective TRADOC Institutions training curriculum. #LI-SC1

What you will do

  • Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
  • Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
  • Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements.
  • Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.

What you must have

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
    • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Expertise in areas associated with the development and representation of Synthetic Natural Environments (SNE) within modeling and simulation training systems.
  • Understanding of image generator and game engine pipelines, technologies, principles, best practices, and limitations.
  • Knowledge of: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and best practices; production of Terrain Database (TDB) modeling systems and format; knowledge of terrain database tradeoffs to meet system performance goals; synthetic Environment Data Representation and Interchange.
  • Experience with generating SNE databases for constructive, gaming, and virtual simulation systems; managing correlation between multiple training systems; understanding of modeling concepts including generation, integration, and optimization; and Gaming and Virtual simulation system expertise (ex. GFT, CCTT, Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT), Common Driver Trainer (CDT), CSE).
  • Must have and be able to maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with Unity and/or Unreal is desired. 
  • Proficient in ArcGIS, Global Mapper or other associated GIS tool suites is desired. 
  • Terra Vista expertise is desired.
  • TerraTools experience is strongly desired, specifically for Constructive and Gaming database generation.  Constructive simulation systems such as OneSAF, Warfighters' Simulation (WARSIM), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) is desired.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
