The Technical Solutions Division

  • Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), is a professional services business providing mission-critical and practical solutions to a wide variety of government and commercial customers worldwide. The Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is seeking a motivated and experienced team player to join our team as an Azure Subject Matter Expert. You’ll be responsible for the smooth functioning of the TSD Cloud infrastructure and operational environments that support application deployment to internal and external customers, including the network infrastructure; server and device management; computer operations; troubleshooting of technical issues and responding to customer requests. Future responsibilities may grow to AWS and any other TSD cloud infrastructure which may be deployed or is currently deployed.
All TSD cloud infrastructure has a heavy emphasis on US government backed compliance requirements.
The TSD Cloud Lead provides leadership and coordination for the company’s business operations and information systems; leads and ensures strategic and operational alignment with the established business goals; and recommends and implements business solutions and technology required to provide a productive and efficient environment.
This is a hands-on, full time hands-on REMOTE position that can be performed anywhere in the US.

What you will do

  • Develop, implement and execute maintenance schedules to minimize risk and down time to the organization.
  • Work with TSD infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to develop, implement and execute business continuity and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and procedures, runbooks, and guides to ensure knowledge, learning, and best practices are captured and shared among the team.
  • Respond to inquiries, alerts, and incidents meeting Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets, while maintaining regular communication with any affected customers to ensure they are satisfied with the resolution.
  • Perform and overlook all administration tasks in TSD cloud infrastructure.
  • Understand and able to implement US government based compliance standards at all levels of the TSD cloud infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the technology strategy, vision, requirements, and solutions for enterprise TSD initiatives.
  • Provide work leadership and mentorship to lower level employees.
  • Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and capabilities, and providing recommendations to management and clients. Provided the technologies meet all company compliance requirements.

What we are looking for

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field;  or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Proven experience leading an IT operations team or department.
  • Previous extensive Azure experience.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.

The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
