This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary

The Vice President of Service Excellence for All-Domain Operations (ADO) reports directly to the ADO President and serves as a key member of the leadership team. This executive is responsible for defining, building and maturing service offerings, products and solutions and enabling strategic growth.  The VP will play a critical role in solutions development, strategic capture and business process optimization, which will require a focus on customer engagement, team development, and cross-functional collaboration across the enterprise.


This position requires a visionary leader who is hands-on, agile, and adept at managing diverse responsibilities—from P&L ownership to spearheading growth strategies and integrating innovative solutions. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, while building strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Solutions Development  
    • Align Solutions Leads, Functional Managers and Portfolio SME’s
    • Build a team of subject matter experts that possess functional expertise and capabilities to satisfy client and mission needs
    • Facilitate a training environment to assist HII employees in becoming solutions support subject matter experts so they are able to support the proposal process
    • Develop strategic vendor relationships
    • Coordinate with Business Development and Operations teams on tactical selling strategies
  • Strategic Capture
    • Serve as the primary liaison between ADO and MT senior leadership to align strategic priorities
    • Assess, analyze and manage the large complex opportunities throughout the Bids & Proposal lifecycle
    • Tailor and standardize solutions to GSA AAS-Defense Service Delivery Model requirements
    • Develop a Key Talent Pipeline for AAS-D work
  • Business Process Optimization
    • Develop, implement and advocate a GSA – Management as a Service Ecosystem
    • Refine Bids & Proposal processes to increase value and reduce costs
    • Identify Opportunities to implement agile, storyboarding and modular techniques to improve proposal management
    • Partner with Capture Managers, Functional Managers and Delivery Teams to integrate win strategies and proven solutions into high value proposal artifacts
    • Capture lessons learned to refine the Bids & Proposal process and evolve Management as a Service Ecosystem

What you must have

  • 10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant progressive experience.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible capture, business development and proposal experience; 8+ years of P&L experience.
  • Demonstrated success in driving both financial performance and operational excellence.
  • Experience leading growth efforts including full lifecycle capture, bid strategies, proposal development, and transition to execution.
  • Deep understanding of government contracting, including a range of contract types (FFP, T&M, Cost Plus, IDIQs).
  • Proven track record of winning and managing large-scale defense contracts (e.g., >$50M single award, >$1B IDIQs).
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with an ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Deep market awareness of DoD priorities, acquisition strategies, and customer environments.
  • Clearance:  Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain).
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
