This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Remote Project Manager.

 

The Project Manager’s responsibilities include coordinating and completing projects on time, within budget, and scope. Oversees all aspects of the project's onsite personnel. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors, and summarizes progress of projects in compliance with all Contract Deliverables. Prepare reports for government customers and Program Managers regarding the project status. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.

What You Will Do

  • Communicate project status to customers and the HII management team. 
  • Lead the team and ensure the production and delivery of a wide array of contract deliverables including weekly and monthly project status reports.
  • Interact regularly with HII operating group leads, functional managers, technical staff, and customers. 
  • Interacts with Program support office function personnel to achieve travel, logistical, personnel, and other functions as required in order to manage project employees and support to the customer. 
  • Interfaces with HII support functions such as Payroll, Benefits, and Human Resources as needed in order to support Project employees.
  • Manage project costs, schedule, and performance for a diverse set of tasks being performed by staff from multiple technical and non-technical disciplines.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and liaises between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Serve as the company's primary point of contact for project-related items and appropriately manage personnel, performance, scope, schedule, and budget matters for the company's contract support team.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress, intervention, and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Provide overall technical and financial management of tasks and milestones associated with contractual agreements.
  • Manage relationships and expectations with government customer, companies we have a contractual relationship with, and our employees.
  • Evaluate the progress of project milestones and budget and modify work as applicable to ensure overall project quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Regularly engage with key government client stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing monthly status reports detailing work performed, schedule of activities, and issues/concerns arising or potentially arising in the following month's efforts.
  • Facilitate the development of information deliverables for a contract supporting the government customer.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Assist with analyzing business requirements.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Experience managing performance-based projects and/or programs with multiple international performance locations.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including leading up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing contracts in support of the Department of Defense.
  • 3+ years of experience managing contracts awarded and administrated by GSA/FEDSIM.
  • Clearance: Must have and maintain a Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III Program Management certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
