Summary:

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Labor Relations / HR Professional to engage, influence and provide successful multi-domain (HRBP, Labor Relations, TA, Compensation, Benefits, Learning etc.) HR expertise in support of a large Operations and Maintenance contract within Mission Technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to create, implement and drive creative and unique Human Capital Solutions by partnering with key stakeholders throughout HR and leaders in an HR Business Partner role. Ideally based at our Fair Lakes, VA or Virginia Beach, VA location under a hybrid schedule. Open to remote work arrangements, with flexibility to travel to multiple sites as needed to support business operations.

 

What You Will Do:

The individual we are interested in bringing to our team has a record of accomplishment in the Human Resources field as a Labor Relations / HR Business Partner and has translatable experience that they can articulate to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Assist with grievance tracking and coordination under collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
  • Provide administrative and strategic support for labor negotiations led by the legal team.
  • Support union-related processes and help implement labor relations practices in partnership with legal and leadership teams.
  • Possesses a consultative engagement mindset and effectively engages with all levels of leadership including senior leadership, HR Managers/Business Partners, TA Managers or Recruiters, Compensation, Benefits and Security to identify priorities and deliverables.
  • Experience with SCA workforces is a must.
  • Other experience necessary includes employee relations matters to include conducting and overseeing investigations and writing reports, managing the grievance process, knowledge of employment regulatory requirements as they pertain to in the Government Contracting space.
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience handling multiple tasks in a team-based, fast paced, high demand environment and possess excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Understands and effectively responds to the complexity of solutions with a dispersed workforce.
  • Partners with BD, PM and TA in support of new bids and re-compete bids to ensure development of hiring strategy and identifying any legal concerns.

What We're Looking For:

 

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) within unionized environments.
  • Skilled in managing grievance and arbitration processes in coordination with union representatives.
  • Contributed to union negotiations through strategic planning and support of contract implementation.
  • Government contracting (DOD) experience.
  • Experience as a Human Resources Business Partner.
  • Previous experience with a Human Resource Information System.
  • Must have experience interacting with multiple HR domains such as Labor Relations, TA, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Development.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective influencing skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate superb communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with service industry CBAs and union relations preferred.
  • Familiarity with EEO, ADA, FMLA and Service Contract Act (SCA) compliance.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.
