HII- Mission Technologies is hiring a Project Manager to join The Information Technology Project Management Office (ITPMO). The ITPMO Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and maturing the ITPMO team and processes, as well as a working project manager role for high priority/visibility initiatives. This individual ensures successful cross functional delivery of technology initiatives. This role is critical in aligning IT strategy with business goals and maintaining operational excellence.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
• Establishing and maintaining project management standards and methodologies: This includes defining processes, tools, and best practices for managing projects effectively.
• Leading and managing the PMO team: Supervising project managers, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Overseeing the IT project portfolio: Prioritizing projects, allocating resources, monitoring progress, and reporting performance to senior management.
• Ensuring project alignment with organizational goals: Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure projects deliver value and support business objectives.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks and issues: Developing strategies to address potential problems and implement corrective actions.
• Driving process improvement: Continuously evaluating and enhancing PMO processes to optimize project delivery.
• Managing project deliverables and documentation: Ensuring accurate recordkeeping and maintaining a centralized repository of project information.
• Facilitating communication and collaboration: Acting as a central point of contact for project information and fostering effective communication between teams and stakeholders.
Requirements: I have already done that or have it!
• 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading/managing IT projects.
• Strong leadership and team management skills: Previous supervisory experience, specifically the ability to guide, motivate, and mentor project managers and team members.
• Deep knowledge of project management methodologies: Practical experience with frameworks like Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches.
• Technical proficiency: Understanding of IT concepts, technologies, and project-related tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including stakeholders, team members, and senior management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze project data, identify trends, assess risks, and make informed decisions.
• Organizational and time management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Financial acumen: Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
Preferred Requirements
• Relevant experience/education: 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field.
• Tools: MS Project, MS Visio, Office Timeline Pro, JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow
• Certifications: PgMP, PMP, CSM, ACP
