Job Description

Join HII – Mission Technologies and make a difference by helping to create graphic designs for compliant and compelling proposal responses to commercial and U.S. government solicitation requirements.

The Graphic Design Internship is a temporary position within HII – Mission Technologies which prepares a college student for entry into the workforce by providing emphasis on training and gathering experience related to a student's educational discipline and which is applicable to the business needs of the company. The position is for college students who are rising juniors or seniors in their academic program and are available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.

Essential Job Responsibilities

•    Creates graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions
•    Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork
•    Works closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements and create cost efficient graphic designs through available mediums
•    May provide computer graphic services for web artwork
•    Perform work that is pertinent to field study
•    Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
 

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 40% and 60% of the required credits completed. Preference for Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Visual Media, or related curriculum.  Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher while participating in this internship.

Preferred Requirements

•    Excellent writing, communication and listening skills.
•    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•    Must be diligent, hardworking and a fast learner.
•    Desires to gain professional experience and is eager to learn.
•    Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365
 

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
