Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Director of IT Engineering and Operations to lead and manage the design, implementation, and operations of enterprise-wide infrastructure systems. This role is responsible for Cloud Engineering, Server and Network Operations, and IT Field Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise technology ecosystems, a passion for operational excellence, and the leadership skills to drive high-performing teams in a dynamic and evolving environment.

What you will do

  • Infrastructure Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive infrastructure strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
    • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of scalable cloud system to support enterprise applications and services.
    • Drive continuous improvement of IT operational processes, system performance, and service delivery
  • Cloud Engineering
    • Oversee the engineering, deployment, and management of cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
    • Ensure cloud solutions meet business, security, and compliance requirements while optimizing cost and performance.
    • Lead cloud migration initiatives and ongoing cloud-native modernization efforts.
  • Server and Network Operations
    • Direct daily operations of the enterprise server, storage, and network environments to ensure high availability and performance.
    • Establish and enforce ITIL-based practices for incident, problem, and change management.
    • Oversee proactive monitoring, capacity planning, patching, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • IT Field Services
    • Lead a geographically distributed IT Field Services team responsible for hands-on technical support, system deployment, and endpoint management.
    • Ensure high-quality, customer-focused support for onsite and remote users across business groups.
    • Define, implement, and manage Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) and track adherence.  Drive continuous improvement through analysis of trends, bottlenecks, and service gaps.
    • Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to regularly review and update performance standards and expectations.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams to maintain secure and compliant infrastructure environments.
    • Support audit activities and enforce controls that meet regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the Infrastructure and Operations teams.
    • Provide coaching, professional development, and performance management for technical managers and engineers.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with application, cybersecurity, and business teams to ensure cohesive technology delivery.

What you must have

  • 10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant progressive experience.
  • 5+ years in a senior infrastructure or operations management role.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), virtualization, networking, and storage technologies.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, AGILE frameworks, operational risk, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams and vendors.
  • Proven ability to drive transformation, optimize costs, and improve operational resilience.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
