Job Description

 

HII – Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

 

HII – TSD is currently seeking a Joint and Interagency Training Specialist to work onsite at USSOUTHCOM, Doral, FL.

Essential Job Responsibilities

 

Plans, develops, and implements technical product training programs for customers, and/or employees, and field support teams. Technical training may include standard, repeatable modules, customized and new product modules. Obtains information from customer and technical organizations, engineering, software and product requirements to prepare training programs; prepares lesson plans and training materials; designs product demonstrations; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions, product demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. May administer tests. Continuously revises lesson plans to ensure course material reflect product features, meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date. May include military trainers.

 

•  Applicant will use joint and interagency (IA) experience to assist the Command in the planning, coordinating and integration of non-governmental organization (NGO), business and academia to support combatant commander requirements.
•  Facilitate relationships with NGO, business and academia and integrate them into USSOUTHCOM’s humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercises and operations.
•  Manage and develop USSOUTHCOM’s Public Private Cooperation partner database of non-governmental organization (NGO), international organization (IO), interagency, foundations, academia, think tanks, and corporate relationships.
•  Evaluate measures of effectiveness, measures of performance, and return on investment of existing partnerships and develop criteria, priorities and overall strategy to generate new partnerships.
•  Lead and support the formulation of policy, strategies, and programs to promulgate non-federal entity integration across the AOR.
•  Participate in forums, conferences, and workshops along with NGO, business, philanthropy, and academia to discuss priority issues and successful models of development in the region.
•  Plan, coordinate and execute conferences in support of USSOUTHCOM engagement plan development.
•  Applicant will be assigned to SOUTHCOM, Miami, FL., and provide support at the HQ and elsewhere within the AOR.
•  Applicant may travel within the USSOUTHCOM AOR and will be reimbursed in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR).

Minimum Qualifications

 

•  10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
•  Individual should have at least one joint assignment.
•  Direct experience at the Joint Staff and/or a combatant command level.
•  Successful applicant will have current history of interagency (IA) support and interaction, understand the challenges and equities inherent in IA at both the national and operation levels, and be familiar with military training, Service operations and joint operations.
•  All applicants will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
•  The selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (TS/SCI is required).

Preferred Requirements

 

•  At least 5 years at the active duty O4, or above, level preferred
•  Experience with USSOUTHCOM Joint Exercises is a plus.
•  Understanding of/experience in a joint service environment is desired.
•  Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

 

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
