Summary

HII Mission Technologies is looking for a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Technician to provide modeling and simulation support to ensure Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC) systems and software are able to provide/support a government defined level four synthetic training environment. M&S Technician will plan, manage, and execute all modeling and simulation tasks, to include application management, required to ensure DTOC DMO tools are compatible with user devices and environment generators. This position is located in Des Moines, IA. #LI-MJ1 

What you will do

Work closely with both commercial and government software providers in an application management role to ensure products produced for mission execution are compliant with Government directed standards through requirements definition and submission and by performing beta testing prior to product release. Conducts a compliant validation process for quality information technology systems which requires formal validation documentation. May perform system administration and configuration of quality information technology systems.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a software application manager in accordance with DTOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

  • Provide annual usage metrics on M&S software applications with recommendations on quantities requirement to meet operational needs

  • Assist in developing and executing test plans related to software interoperability with connected training devices and collaborate with TSSC as required

  • Be knowledgeable in the use of DIS troubleshooting tools (e.g.: Wireshark and DIS PDU Analyzer (DPA)

  • Providing basic level M&S training to all DTOC personnel on annual basis

  • Represent DTOC and ANG DMO standards at standard working groups identified by the government

What you must have

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Functional knowledge of distributed simulation (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA)
  • Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools
  • Expert knowledge on use of stimulation software such as Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), Combat Environment Server (CES), Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE), Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG), etc
  • Secret security clearance.

  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Tactical SME operations background

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
