Job Description

Hll's Mission Technologies Division has an immediate opportunity for a senior Systems Engineer on the Advanced Capabilities and Strategic Integration (AC&SI) Team. The position is embedded within and directly supports the Electronic Warfare Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH.

 

The selected candidate will provide a full range of systems requirements analysis, system development planning, test and evaluation, and fielding and sustainment planning engineering support in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Defense 5000 Series Adaptive Acquisition Framework guidance. Duties may include analyzing and interpreting end user requirements, reviewing system technical documentation, supporting systems engineering reviews, and drafting systems engineering-related acquisition milestone documentation.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Assist in the development of:

  • Program acquisition strategies, roadmaps, plans, and timelines
  • Acquisition program documentation
  • System Requirements Documents, Statements of Work, Performance Work Statements and other Request for Proposal documents

 

Support:

  • Identification, analysis, mitigation planning, and monitoring of program risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Review and analysis of system technical documentation, test plans and test results
  • Systems engineering reviews

 

Generate, conduct, and/or coordinate:

  • Technical reports, analyses, assessments
  • Technology development plans
  • Conference summaries

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI
  • Familiarity with the AF Systems Acquisition process
  • Proven ability to be a technical thought leader
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicated technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to provide leadership through changing project requirements and priorities

Preferred Requirements

Knowledge of:

    • US Air Force (USAF) Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO)
    • EMSO environments
    • USAF aircraft Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) avionics systems
    • Modeling and simulation (M&S), and how it can be applied to advance systems development and acquisition
    • The process of translating identified capability gaps into requirements, and defining the requirements in acquisition terms that can be designed into a system and tested
    • Key US government organizations and individuals engaged in the USAF and/or broad Department of Defense EW communities
  • Strong understanding of model-based systems engineering practices
  • Hands-on experience working with SysML and/or Cameo
  • Active TS/SCI with current background investigation

Physical Requirements

  • Office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
  • Lifting and moving materials may be required.
