Job Description

HII is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support radio frequency (RF) system characterization of foreign assets in support of providing the United States Intelligence Community with highly technical information on foreign adversary capabilities. The Electrical Engineer will aide in the exploitation foreign weapon systems such as aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, aerodynamic weapons, space systems, ballistic missiles, and associated subsystems to establish their design, performance capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities. In this position you must be able to work independently and in teams.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing RF systems such as transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, and antennas.
  • Responsible for conducting testing and analysis of RF systems to ensure that they meet the required specifications.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to RF systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams such as mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure that the RF systems are integrated into the overall product design.
  • Conducting research and development to identify new technologies and techniques that can be used to improve the performance of RF systems.
  • Create technical documentation such as specifications, test plans, and reports to ensure that the RF systems meet the required standards.
  • Provide technical support to other teams such as sales and customer support to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge to support customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Hands on experience in RF instrumentation and components such as network and spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, power meters, antennas, couplers, hybrids, etc.
  • Knowledge of typical RF circuits such as filters, local oscillators, RF switches, and amplifier chains
  • Knowledge of typical RF measurement metrics such as gain, bandwidth, dynamic range, noise figures, compression point determination, phase stability, antenna characterization, etc.
  • Author professional technical reports detailing results of analysis and measurements, and give technical presentations.
  • Willingness to learn RF measurement techniques and methodologies
  • Self-Motivated and goal oriented
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Candidates must be eligible for a DoD Secret clearance, a Top Secret/SCI Clearance and additional clearances commensurate to their involvement with the USG.
  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 0 years experience with Masters in related field.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with software defined radios
  • Familiarity with RF modulation techniques such as FSK, BPSK, QPSK, FM, and AM
  • Familiarity with antenna patterns
  • Board layout, PCB fabrication knowledge, soldering, and PCB repair
