Job Description

We have an immediate, time-critical requirement for a Communications & Datalinks Systems Engineer to support critical delivery schedules, tactical data link integration, spectrum management / DoW AIMS IFF certifications, and Digital Materiel Management (DMM) initiatives. This role provides significant operational impact across multi-domain mission integration, airworthiness, and digital engineering. 

 

The selected candidate will serve as a dedicated engineering asset aligned to communications, datalink, spectrum, and avionics integration activities, with close coordination across government, industry, and enterprise-level stakeholders. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

Communications, Datalinks & OMS Integration 
• Engineer tactical communications and datalink architectures including Link 16, TTNT, UHF/VHF 
• Integrate Open Mission Systems (OMS) and open architecture standards 
• Perform system analysis, interface definition, and mission thread development 

 

Spectrum Management & DoW AIMS / IFF Certification 
• Coordinate RF spectrum allocations, frequency compliance, and certification artifacts 
• Serve as technical interface to the DoW AIMS Program Office 
• Support and execute Mark XIIA / Mode 5 IFF certification packages and associated engineering tasks 

 

CNS/ATM Systems & Mandates 
• Develop compliance matrices for ICAO, FAA NextGen, DoD/DoW mandates 
• Support civil/military airspace integration assessments and architecture evaluations 

Digital Materiel Management (DMM) & MBSE 
• Implement MBSE workflows and digital engineering processes 
• Maintain digital thread and digital twin integrity across datalink/avionics baselines 
• Utilize authoritative digital tools to accelerate DMM initiatives 

 

Avionics Subsystem & SIL Integration 
• Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and SIL integration activities 
• Evaluate platform data bus architectures (MILSTD1553, Ethernet, ARINC 429) 
• Support test execution, results analysis, and verification planning 

 

Airworthiness & Flight Clearance 
• Develop and review system safety assessments and military airworthiness documentation 
• Author flight clearance engineering products and certification artifacts 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field

• 9+ years of experience with tactical communications, datalinks, or avionics systems 
• Working knowledge of Link 16, TTNT, UHF/VHF, OMS/OA standards, and military communication architectures 
• Experience with spectrum management, RF coordination, or IFF/Mark XIIA/Mode 5 certification processes 
• Familiarity with MBSE tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.) and digital engineering workflows 
• Understanding of CNS/ATM mandates and airspace integration requirements 
• Experience with avionics integration, HITL/SIL testing, and data bus architectures 
• Ability to create airworthiness and flight clearance documentation

• Strong communication skills and ability to interface directly with government and industry partners

• Active Secret security clearance  

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with DoW AIMS Program Office activities 
• Previous support to Space Systems Command or LA AFB programs 
• Experience with Digital Materiel Management (DMM) initiatives 

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
